Coming to the match, Galle Titans set a stiff target of 189 for Colombo Strikers after being asked to bat first.
In reply, the Strikers rode on Babar Azam’s 104 off 59 balls to get over the line with seven wickets in hand and one delivery to spare. With this knock, he became only the second batter after Chris Gayle to slam 10 centuries in T20 cricket.
Babar has hit three centuries in international cricket and two each in the Vitality Blast and National T20 Cup. He has also smashed a hundred in the Pakistan Super League and one during a tour match against Leicestershire.
Babar’s LPL ton took his tally to 10. Gayle holds the record for the most hundreds in the shortest format – 22.
