Moeen Ali will not reverse his Test retirement decision this time around as the all-rounder said he will not tour India with the England team for a Test series next year.

The Ben Stokes-led England team will travel to India for a five-match Test series from January 25 to March 11.

"There is no way I am going (to India). It is nice to finish like this. Test cricket is the best cricket. I wish I could rewind time," Moeen was quoted as saying by the Guardian.

Notably, Ali had called time on his Test career in 2021 but Stokes persuaded him to reconsider his decision after first-choice spinner Jack Leach got ruled out of all five Ashes Tests due to back injury.

Moeen reaffirmed his decision to retire from the longest format following the fifth and final Ashes Test against Australia at The Oval earlier this week.

The all-rounder ended his Test career with 3094 runs from 68 games at an average of 28.12, including five hundreds and 15 half-centuries. He also claimed a total of 204 wickets at 37.31 with five five-wicket hauls.

"Although my Test career has been a bit up and down, I wouldn't change it. I've loved it. I would have regretted (not accepting England's recall) later in life.

"It was quite daunting because I've never done well against Australia. I had nothing to lose -- it was a free hit," Ali said.

Moeen, however, has no plans to move away completely from cricket as he wants to focus on the white-ball format.

"White-ball (cricket) is great. I love the leagues, but there is nothing better than playing against the best attack with a new ball in their hand. It's a challenge," he said.

The Oval Test also marked the retirement of Stuart Broad and Moeen said it was nice of the England pace legend to allow him to walk beside.

"It proves the man he is. I didn't want to do it and he said I had to. From the start, he was always amazing with me. I've always got on well with him and really pleased he's finished the way he has," he stated.
