Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member India squad for the three-match T20I series against Ireland from August 18-23.

Speedsters Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna made a long-awaited comeback in national colors with the former also named as the captain, in absence of Hardik Pandya, who has been rested for the short tour along with several others.

Bumrah and Krishna recently bowled in practice games in Bengaluru to prove their fitness before getting the go-ahead from the medical staff of the BCCI at the National Cricket Academy.

Apart from Bumrah, Krishna and wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, rest of the team is the same as the one announced for the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou with the exception of Rahul Tripathi, Shivam Mavi and Prabhsimran Singh.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who lead India at the Asian Games, will serve as Bumrah's deputy in Ireland. Rinku Singh earns a call-up after also being named for the games to be played in late September.

The regular T20I team members not picked in the Ireland bound squad are expected to attend a camp in Bengaluru ahead of the Asia Cup under head coach Rahul Dravid, with VVS Laxman likely to take over the coaching duties in Ireland.
