Chahal picked 139 wickets for RCB in IPL from 2014-2021.
The likes of Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Dale Steyn, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle, and Shane Watson amongst others played for the RCB team over the years and the franchise has made it into three finals of IPL in 2009, 2011 and 2016. But on all three occasions, they fell short in the final.
RCB's struggles in the tournament despite having the much-needed star power have surprised many and fans don't know the answer to their title drought.
One of them is their former spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who represented RCB from 2014 to 2021, and he has admitted that even he doesn’t know why the franchise has not been able to win a single IPL trophy.
Speaking on the Ranveer Show, the RCB legend came up with a hilarious answer to RCB's tile drought and said: "I've been trying to find an answer to that question for 8 years."

He added that RCB had the best chance to win the trophy in IPL 2016 when they were dominating the other teams. However, they fell short in the final once more, as Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated them in their home at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
"In 2016, we had the best chance as we had Chris Gayle and KL Rahul. We lost the final. We won 6 of the 7 games at last. I got my first purple cap in the Qualifier match against Delhi, just for two days. The equation was that if we lost, we'd be out of the top 4 and if we won, we'd finish second. We won the match and went on to the final. We were playing at Chinnaswamy but lost the match by 8-10 runs. That hurt," he added.
Chahal, who was released by the RCB franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 auction, is the leading wicket-taker for them with 139 scalps to his name in 114 games. Currently, Chahal is the leading wicket-taker in all IPL with 187 scalps in 145 matches.
