India head coach Rahul Dravid and his team of support staff will get a break after the culmination of the West Indies tour.

The Indian team is currently in the Caribbean for an all-format tour, consisting of two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is. The tour will conclude on August 13 with the fifth and final T20I in Florida.

According to a Cricbuzz report, Dravid along with batting coach Vikram Rathour and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey will return home from Florida and won’t travel to Ireland for India’s three-match T20I series.

In their absence, the staff at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will take charge of the Ireland tour, due to be held from August 18 to August 23.

The report further stated that VVS Laxman will play the role of head coach while Sitanshu Kotak or Hrishikesh Kanitkar will be the batting coach. Troy Cooley and Sairaj Bahutule could handle the bowling coach duties.

Laxman had previously accompanied the team as a coach on the tours of Ireland and West Indies last year.

Talking about the team, the Men in Blue are expected to play under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya in Ireland. Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who has been out of action since September 2022 due to back injury, is likely to make a comeback during the tour of Ireland.
