Gurbaz played IPL 2023 for Kolkata Knight Riders.
This shows how popular the former India skipper remains despite playing his last game for India four years ago and retiring from international cricket in 2020.
However, Dhoni has remained active in the Indian Premier League, and after leading the CSK franchise to win in IPL 2021, the mercurial cricketer repeated the feat in IPL 2023 which also helped the side equal Mumbai Indians (MI) record for most IPL title wins.

Afghanistan’s wicket-keeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz is the latest to get appreciation from Dhoni, who sent him his autographed CSK jersey. Gurbaz took to social media and posted a photo of his prized possession.
“Thanks, MS Dhoni sir for sending me the gift from India,” he captioned the post.
Gurbaz was part of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 and was traded to Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023. In the 11 appearances he made in the tournament, the swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter scored 227 runs at a strike rate of 133.53.
