Indian team has cemented their position at the number 1 ranked T20I team in the world in the latest ICC update for T20I team rankings on May 2, 2023. They have now made a huge gap in the rating points between themselves and second ranked England.

The annual rankings see India add further two points, thus increasing their lead to 267 as they go eight points clear of Men's T20 World Champions England (259).

Despite having a disappointing T20 World Cup in 2021, the Men in Blue side bounced back well in T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia where they reached the semi-finals while defeating Pakistan in MCG on their way.

The Men in Blue have been terrific in T20Is since May 2020, having lost just the one bilateral series (against Sri Lanka in 2021), emerging victorious in 13 other series while one ended in a draw (against South Africa in 2022).

The annual update of the T20I rankings reflect all T20I series completed since May 2020, with those completed prior to May 2022 weighted at 50 per cent and every subsequent series weighted at 100 per cent.
