Along with Babar, Mohammad Rizwan also went unsold in the Hundred player draft.
Babar, who entered the draft with a reserve price of £100,000, didn’t find any takers in the draft. This was the second consecutive draft Babar was ignored.
Last year he was not picked as the tournament clashed with Pakistan’s international commitments. Babar was listed at the reserve price of £125,000.
“I’ll pay double for him [Babar Azam]. I’ll spend the whole budget on Babar Azam. The only thing I can guess is that there might have been an availability issue, which is why he wasn’t picked,” Anderson said on BBC’s Tailender Podcast.
Alongside Babar, his compatriot Mohammad Rizwan was also unsuccessful in finding a team. However, Pakistani pacers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf managed to find a home in Welsh Fire.
