Both the former cricketers have been warring on Twitter over KL Rahul's form.
Venkatesh Prasad has been a vocal critic of KL Rahul, who last scored a Test century in 2021, for being backed by Indian team management despite extremely poor returns with the bat at the top of the batting order.
Prasad brought out numbers, stats and facts how multiple other batters have been sidelined, as per him, to keep Rahul in the Indian team. However, he found a worthy adversary in Aakash Chopra, who backed KL Rahul to hilt.
Chopra countered Prasad number-to-number, stat-to-stat and facts were shared by him as well. He even posted a video on his YouTube channel asking Venkatesh Prasad to calm down and said that “If there are any agendas, let’s not peddle them."
This led to Venkatesh Prasad taking a huge offence to being called an agenda peddler and dug out Chopra’s old tweets from 2012 when he had made fun of Rohit Sharma’s talent and called him out for calling a different view point as agenda because it doesn’t suit his narrative.
This resulted in Aakash Chopra offering Prasad a chance to come on his YouTube channel and doing a live debate over the issues as he felt things were getting lost in translations and messages were being misinterpreted.
He tweeted: “Venky bhai, msgs are getting lost in translation. You here. Me on YT. I invite you to come on a Video Chat…we can do it Live. Difference on opinions is nice…lets do it properly. I’ll not have any sponsors on it & nobody will make money out of it. Up for it? You have my number”
However, Venkatesh Prasad rejected the offer of coming on a live chat and made it clear that Chopra calling him an agenda peddler was his limit and he won’t be engaging with him further on this topic.
“No Aakash, nothing is lost in translation. In your 12 minute video you have called me as an agenda peddler because it didn’t suit your narrative. It is crystal clear. And I have made my points very clear in this Twitter thread. Don’t wish to engage with you further on this,” Prasad quoted Chopra’s tweet.
