Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad ruffled a lot of feathers over his comment regarding the Indian team over their refusal to play in Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.

Pakistan is to host the Asia Cup 2023 in September in ODI format, but the BCCI has refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the tournament and said that that the tournament should be moved to a neutral venue.

Even the ACC's recent meeting featuring PCB chief Najam Sethi and BCCI secretary Jay Shah ended in stalemate as reportedly BCCI is refusing to budge from its stand and PCB has allegedly said that if India doesn’t come to Pakistan, then they might not come to India for the ODI World Cup to be played in October-November.

Miandad called for strict action from the International Cricket Council (ICC) on BCCI while talking during the exhibition PSL match in Quetta on Sunday.

India can go to hell if they don’t want to come to Pakistan to play cricket (Maine toh pehle bhi kaha tha agar nahi aana to bhaad mein jaaye. Humein koi farak nahi padta),” Miandad reckoned at a public event. “I’ve always backed Pakistan. And you know that I don’t leave spare India whenever an issue arises. But the thing is we need to look at our part. And we should fight for it. We don’t care because we are getting to host our cricket. This is ICC’s job. If ICC can’t control this there’s no use of the governing body. They need to implement similar rules for every team. If teams like these don’t come, they should be debarred. (India hoga, apne liye hoga. Hamare liye nahi hai)," he had said.

Now he has received an apt reply to his inane statement as former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad reminded him of something.

Incidentally, Prasad was part of Miandad’s final international match which came against India in the quarterfinal of the 1996 World Cup in Bengaluru.

Prasad tweeted: "But they are refusing to go to hell."

As per reports, PCB wants ICC to move the ODI World Cup 2023 out of India and is building pressure on ICC to take some action. A final decision will however be taken next month when the heads of the two boards will meet again for an ICC and ACC meeting.
