Kambli allegedly came home drunk and verbally abused his wife before the incident.
Kambli and Andrea got married in 2014, which was the cricketer’s second marriage and the couple has a son together named Jesus Christiano Kambli.
Meanwhile, Andrea had filed an FIR against him for allegedly abusing and assaulting her under the influence of alcohol in the Bandra (West) flat on Friday.
The Bandra Police filed on Friday registered the FIR against Kambli under Indian Penal Code Sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).
The incident happened between 1 pm and 1.30 pm on Friday when Kambli allegedly came back home under the influence of alcohol and began verbally abusing his wife. His 12-year-old son, who was also present there, reportedly tried to pacify him but he rushed to the kitchen, grabbed a pan, and threw it at his wife.

His wife got treated at the Bhabha hospital and then visited the police and filed a case.
"On 3rd Feb around 1 pm, my husband Vinod Kambli under ready influence of alcohol was abusing me in front of my two kids. That is when I told him not to abuse. He lost his temper and threw broken handle of a frying pan on my head. I suffered injuries. He also ran behind to hit with a bat. My son intervened, but he was abusive against us. I left the house and took treatment at Bhabha Hospital," Andrea Kambli said in her FIR as per Timesnownews.
FIR also mentions that Kambli fights with his neighbors under alcohol influence.
Police officials have said that a case has been registered against Kambli and he will be called for questioning and had visited his house to serve him the summons and take his statement.
Speaking to Times Now, the former Indian cricketer said that he is not aware of the complaint. He said that he does not know that his wife had gone to the police station and filed a complaint against him.
