Khurram Manzoor said that he has always admired Virat Kohli for being the best.
Pakistani cricketer Khurram Manzoor came up with a clarification over his controversial claim that he is the world number 1 in 50 overs cricket as his List A conversion rate is better than Virat Kohli and slammed the media for twisting his words.
Manzoor stressed that there is no comparison between him and Kohli while describing the Indian megastar as a "generational talent." He also said that he has always admired Kohli for being the best.
Recently, Khurram Manzoor said on the YouTube channel of Nadir Ali: “I am not comparing myself with Virat Kohli. Fact is, in 50-overs cricket, whoever is there in the top 10, I am the world no.1, after me stands Kohli. My conversion rate in List A cricket is better than his.”
Manzoor them took to Twitter to clarify his statement by saying: “It’s funny how some media outlets and individuals have taken my interview out of context and twisted my words. Virat Kohli is a generational player and I have always admired him as the best.”
He further added, “I talked about this stat in List A Cricket about having best innings per hundred ratio where I am topping the chart and Kohli is on second. There is no comparison between me and him, he has played more games and that too mostly on international level.”
Manzoor also revealed that he has the updated statistics from his team that confirm that Kohli has taken the record away from him and has a better innings per hundred ratio than him.
He added, “My team has just checked that as per the updated stats Virat has taken that record away from me and now he has a better ratio than me and rightly so, as I said, he is a generational talent.”
Notably, Khurram has scored 7922 runs in 166 List A matches, including 27 hundreds at an average of 53.52, while Kohli has 14251 runs in 305 List A matches, including 50 centuries at an average of 56.55.
