Abhinav Bindra lauded the BCCI for helping out Rishabh Pant in the difficult time.
India's first individual Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra hailed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for its efforts in helping Rishabh Pant in every possible way since the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman escaped the horrific car accident near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, on December 30.
The BCCI has been continuously monitoring Pant’s condition and sharing updates on the young cricketer’s health on social media. On Wednesday, January 4, the left-hander was shifted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute from Dehradun’s Max Hospital.
After the BCCI shared the most recent update on Pant, former Olympian Abhinav Bindra took to Twitter to thank the BCCI for assisting the cricketer during this difficult time.
However, the Olympic champion also asked the Indian cricket board to provide Pant with "psychological support" as well.
Bindra tweeted: “Wonderful that the board is looking after Rishabh's recovery. Must also provide psychological support as part of the healing and recovery process!”
Meanwhile, it is being said that Pant will undergo extensive treatment for ligament injuries in the knee and ankle, which he had sustained during a car crash in Mumbai’s Ambani Hospital. He will be treated by renowned sports orthopedic surgeon Dinshaw Pardiwala.
