Pant is currently being treated at a hospital in Dehradun for multiple injuries.
Rishabh’s car collided with a divider and caught fire, forcing him to break the car window and get out of the vehicle. Luckily, a Haryana Roadways bus driver and conductor arrived at the spot of the accident immediately and helped him reach a hospital.
The wicketkeeper-batter is currently being treated at a hospital in Dehradun for multiple injuries to his head, back, knee and ankle.
"I wish him speedy recovery that's all I can say. You know things happen in life and you need to move on so hopefully he'll recover soon and be back on the path soon," Ganguly said on the sidelines of a promotional event, as quoted by PTI.
Earlier, the BCCI had released a statement, saying that the board will support Pant in coming out of this traumatic phase.
“The BCCI is in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh. The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase,” the statement read.
According to reports, Rishabh Pant’s injuries will keep him out of action for a minimum period of six months.
Pant is a key player for India, especially in the longest format, in the last two years. His absence from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at home in February-March might impact India’s chances of qualifying for the World Test Championship final.
Meanwhile, the Indian fans will be hoping and praying for his quick recovery and comeback to the field.
