Veteran Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz made some jaw-dropping revelations about Ramiz Raja after he was sacked as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) along with the chief selector Mohammad Wasim.

The sacking of Raja brought relief to many people, including Riaz, who went on to claim that nobody was happy with the former PCB chief, be it as a cricketer or a board member.

The veteran cricketer further revealed how Raja treated him during his stint, saying the former skipper avoided him many times.

Wahab Riaz said on Samaa TV: “I was talking to one of the board members and he said he was happy that Ramiz bhai was going. So, the people who worked under you were not happy with you. I had messaged Ramiz bhai 4-5 times during his tenure, I said I'm waiting for your message and your call. He didn't reply me back. Why? I'm a present cricketer, I didn't take retirement.”

Wahab also criticized former chief selector Wasim and his panel for running a trend to deem a cricketer of age above 30 "unfit" to play for Pakistan at the highest level. He also slammed Raja for not giving more than two opportunities to experienced cricketers during his tenure as PCB chief.

The star pacer further said, “Anyone who was above 30 was deemed unfit to play. They said that it could hurt unity of the team or the performance of the team. Who has performed from the team that they chose? I don't think any player has got as many chances as those under Ramiz bhai.”

Riaz signed off by saying, “We didn't get more than 2 games. And after all that, the chief selector comes and says, ‘this team has given you a lot of happiness’. What's this? Eid?”

Najam Sethi was appointed as the new PCB chief by PCB patron and Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif.
