Young Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh has been nominated for the ICC Men's Emerging Cricketer of the Year Award for the year 2022. Apart from Arshdeep, South Africa’s Marco Jansen, Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran and New Zealand’s Finn Allen have also been nominated.

Arshdeep picked 33 T20I wickets in an amazing year where he debuted against England in July. He also featured in the ODI series against New Zealand but it was in the shortest format that he made his presence felt.

The left-arm pacer played 21 T20Is, averaged 18.12 with an economy rate of 8.17 and a strike rate of 13.30 in a remarkable year. He was also amazing while bowling both with the new ball and at the death and handled the pressure of criticism as well when he dropped a crucial catch in an Asia Cup match against Pakistan.

He made his T20 World Cup 2022 debut memorable when he dismissed Pakistan captain Babar Azam LBW on the first ball he bowled and finished with figures of 3/32 from his 4 overs.

South Africa’s left-arm seamer Marco Jansen bolstered his team’s already impressive bowling attack and has 36 Test wickets in the season.

New Zealand’s Finn Allen scored 411 T20I runs and 387 ODI runs. The 23-year-old blitzed to 42 runs from 24 balls against Australia at the T20 World Cup.

Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran scored 431 ODI runs and 367 T20I runs which also included three centuries.
