Suryakumar Yadav remains no.2 ranked batter; Devon Conway moves to no.5 in ICC T20I rankings

Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma dropped points in ICC ODI rankings.

India’s Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan retained their no.2 and no.1 spot in the ongoing ICC T20 batting rankings update on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.

Suryakumar, who finished India's recent T20I series at home against South Africa as their leading run-scorer, is on 838 points, behind Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan. The 32-year-old is the lone Indian in the top 10.

Opener KL Rahul and veteran Virat Kohli occupy the 13th and 14th spots while skipper Rohit Sharma is 16th.

Meanwhile, New Zealand opener Devon Conway who is the leading run-getter in the ongoing T20I tri-series involving Pakistan and Bangladesh jumped into the top five after an impressive showing with the bat.

He made 70 against Bangladesh and another unbeaten 49 against Pakistan and has left Aaron Finch and Dawid Malan behind to go to the 5th spot with 760 rating points. Just ahead of him is South Africa middle-order batter Aiden Markram, who is at No.4 with 777 points.

On the other hand, Indian batters Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma dropped down in the ICC ODI rankings. Shikhar Dhawan dropped down six places despite India's 2-1 series win against South Africa and is at no. 17 in the ODI rankings.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also dropped points as they didn’t play in the ODI series, with Kohli at 7th spot and Rohit at no.8.

Shreyas Iyer (33) and Sanju Samson (93) were the big movers in the top 100 of the batting rankings. Kuldeep Yadav gained seven places to get into the top 25 after a four-wicket haul in the third ODI.
