GPCL T20: Indian Sapphires secure semi-final spot with a resounding victory over Scottish Mulberries

Indian Sapphires outplayed Scottish Mulberries in all departments.

Indian Sapphires registered a thumping 124-run victory over Scottish Mulberries in the 9th match of the ongoing Global Power Cricket League (GPCL) T20 at Yamuna Sports Complex Cricket Ground, Delhi on Thursday (October 6).

Opting to bat first, Indian Sapphires rode on half-centuries from Gaurav Tomar (84 off 47 balls) and Dinesh Kumar (75 off 43 balls) to pile up 227/4 on the board.

Amid the carnage, Shahid Siddiquie returned with impressive bowling figures, claiming two wickets by conceding 23 runs in his four overs.  

In reply, Scottish Mulberries were bowled out for a paltry 103 in 18.5 overs. It was a listless batting display as no one except for Zaheeruddeen Ibrahim (54 off 34 balls) managed to cross the 50-run mark.

For Indian Sapphires, Vishal Chaudhary (3-32) picked three wickets while Shivam Singh (2-15) and Ankit Chaudhary (2-18) took two scalps each.

It was Indian Sapphires’ third victory in as many games in the group stage and they have secured their place in the semi-final.
