Callum Ferguson stars in Australian Golds’ 4-wicket win over Irish Olives in Match 4 of GPCL T20

Australian Golds opened their GPCL campaign on a winning note.

Australian Golds opened their Global Power Cricket League (GPCL) T20 campaign with a thrilling four-wicket victory over Irish Olives at Yamuna Sports Complex Cricket Ground, Delhi on Monday (October 3).

Irish Olives skipper Ruhan Pretorius won the toss and elected to bat first. They managed to post a modest 124/7 in their 20 overs on the back of CJ Walt’s crucial 36.

Payas Bidwai was the stand-out bowler for Australian Golds, taking two wickets by conceding 17 runs in his four overs. Sathpath Kalum also picked a couple of scalps and gave away 23 runs in his four overs.

In reply, Australian Golds rode on skipper Callum Ferguson’s unbeaten 53 off 41 balls to overhaul the target with three deliveries to spare. Shaminda Eranga also made a notable contribution of 34-ball 42 during the chase.

For Irish Olives, CJ Walt starred with the ball as well, claiming two wickets by conceding 26 runs in his four overs.
