Kohli made his India debut in an ODI match against Sri Lanka back in 2008. The right-hander was asked to open the innings in that game and he managed to score only 12 runs.
However, the former India skipper has come a long way since his debut, racking up many records to his name as a batter and a captain.
Widely regarded as one of the modern-day greats, Virat Kohli has represented India in 102 Tests so far, amassing 8074 runs at an average of 49.53 with 27 centuries and 28 fifties.
In particular, the 33-year-old has left his mark in the white-ball format, aggregating 12344 runs in 262 ODIs at 57.68 with a staggering 43 tons. He has scored 3308 T20I runs in 99 matches at an average of 50.12 and a strike rate of 137.66, including 30 half-centuries.
Kohli has played a part in India’s 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy triumphs as well. He also won the Player-of-the-Tournament awards in the 2014 and 2016 editions of T20 World Cup.
On completing 14 years in international cricket, Kohli took to Instagram and shared a special video along with a short message.
"14 years ago, it all started and it's been an honour," he wrote in the caption.
Virat Kohli was last seen in action during the England tour in July. He was rested for the West Indies white-ball tour and will return to action in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, slated to get underway on August 27.
