Kohli is India's most successful captain in Test cricket.
Former Indian cricketer Arun Lal heaped praise on Virat Kohli for his incredible captaincy in Test cricket, saying the former India skipper changed the mindset of the Indian cricket team and brought aggression to the national team.
He further credited Kohli for making India play for a win without the fear of losing and making them one of the most fearsome teams in Test cricket.
Notably, Virat ended his tenure earlier this year as India’s most successful Test captain with 40 wins out of 68 matches in the longest format of the game.
Arun Lal said on Jagran TV: “There was a time when winning in Test cricket was considered once you secured yourself a draw. But this thinking has changed now and I give complete credit to Virat Kohli. He changed the mindset of the team and made the team play for a win without the fear of losing.”
Meanwhile, the former Bengal coach was impressed with Rishabh Pant’s progress in the international arena and backed the young wicketkeeper-batter to take Kohli’s legacy forward.
Notably, Pant has so far made a big impact in Test cricket with the bat and played a key role in India’s many memorable wins.
Lal signed off by saying, “Virat brought that aggression to the team and it (can only) get any better if Pant can continue this.”
