Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly has categorically denied that he will be a part of the upcoming second season of Legends League Cricket (LLC).

His clarification came soon after the organizers of the tournament issued a media release stating that the former Indian captain will be part of the league featuring the likes of Virender Sehwag, Shane Watson, Eoin Morgan, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Muttiah Muralitharan, Monty Panesar and others.

The statement of the tournament organizers had quoted Ganguly as saying, “It is going to be a lot of fun playing with other legends.” There is also a social media post on the official Twitter handle of LLC, announcing the same.

Denying LLC's claims, Ganguly told NDTV: "No, I am not going to be a part of Legends League Cricket. The news isn't true."

The inaugural edition of the tournament was held in Oman in January 2022 with cricketers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, England and Ireland divided into three teams - India Maharajas, Asia Lions, and World Giants. World Giants won the title, defeating Asia Lions in the final.
