Australian spin legend Shane Warne passes away at the age of 52

Shane Warne represented Australia in 145 Tests and 194 ODIs.

In a tragic news for the cricket fraternity, Australian spin legend Shane Warne on Friday (March 4) passed away at the age of 52.

Warne’s management released a brief statement, confirming that he passed away in Koh Samui, Thailand, of a suspected heart attack.

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” the statement reads.

“The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course,” it adds.

Shane Warne represented Australia in 145 Tests, claiming 708 wickets at an average of 25.42 with 37 five-wicket hauls. He also picked up 293 wickets in 194 ODIs and was part of Australia’s triumphant 1999 World Cup team.
