After Wriddhiman Saha was threatened by an unidentified journalist for ignoring his calls and messages regarding an interview, BCCI is contemplating on hiring an agency to deal with such cases.

According to a TOI report, a BCCI official has discussed the issue and he is keen to ensure that such complaints get properly investigated going forward.

The report further claims that the BCCI brass has come to know about a few issues that the players are hesitant to share.

"It's not just about Saha alone. Every player needs to be heard. For this, you need a neutral party to carry out such a process. But for that, you will first need consent from every stakeholder," TOI quoted a BCCI source as saying.

"There have been players who have come to certain officials with their grievances regarding their perceptions in the media. Each of them needs to be probed. Even ex-coaches and support staff will need to be spoken to. If everyone is on board then an agency could be hired to speak to everyone and get a clear idea," the source added.

Wriddhiman Saha didn’t find his name in the Indian squad announced for the upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka last Saturday (February 19). He posted the tweet on the same day, which states: “After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone.”

The message from the unnamed journalist reads: “You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don’t take insults kindly. And I will remember this.”

Since then, the 37-year-old Saha has received support from the big names in the Indian cricket fraternity, including Ravi Shastri and Virender Sehwag. In fact, Shastri urged BCCI president Sourav Ganguly to look into the matter.
