Former India captain Virat Kohli hasn't been able to score fluently in recent times.
Indian stalwart Virat Kohli is not getting big scores like he used to a couple of years back. Keeping the century drought aside, the India batter has not been able to score consistently.
In the ODI series against West Indies, Kohli scored only 26 runs in three matches. His batting form has become a major discussion and he is also receiving flak for the downfall.
The former India batter Wasim Jaffer has back Kohli and said every cricketer goes through this phase. He believes the ex-India captain needs to show some patience as things are not going his way.
"Every cricketer goes through this phase where he is unable to score. I think Kohli is trying his level best, but he needs some patience. I think, once he breaks the barrier, he will score runs consistently as he used to do in the past," Jaffer was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
"I am sure he is working as hard behind the scenes as he has been doing all these years, and with the same intensity. I am sure we will see consistent scores from him again," he added.
Recently, India captain Rohit Sharma had asked the media to give Kohli some space. Rohit assured that the 33-year-old is in the right mental space and he is not feeling any pressure of batting failure.
"He knows how to handle pressure. If you guys (media) can keep quiet for a while, I am sure he will be fine," Rohit had said ahead of the T20I series against the West Indies.
