AUS v SL 2022: Sri Lanka announce 20-member squad for T20I tour of Australia

The squad features several fresh faces from the one that took part in the T20 World Cup last year.

Sri Lanka Cricket's Selection Committee on Wednesday (January 26) announced a 20-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against Australia.

The squad features several fresh faces from the one that took part in the T20 World Cup last year. Danushka Gunathilaka and Kusal Mendis, who had their one-year ban lifted earlier this month, also return to the squad but there was no place for Niroshan Dickwella.

Among the uncapped players in the squad include pacer Nuwan Thushara, top-order batter Janith Liyanage, and opener Kamil Mishara.

The squad, led by Dasun Shanaka, will play a five-match T20I series against Australia. The matches will be held across three venues, the SCG, Manuka Oval, and MCG, starting from February 11.

Dasun Shanaka (C), Charith Asalanka (VC), Avishka Fernando, Pathum Nissanka, Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal, Chamika Karunaratne, Janith Liyanage, Kamil Mishara, Ramesh Mendis, Wanindu Hasaranga, Lahiru Kumara, Nuwan Thushara, Dushmantha Chameera, Binura Fernando, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, Praveen Jayawickrama, Shiran Fernando (subject to ministerial approval)

February 11: 1st T20I - Australia v Sri Lanka, Sydney Cricket Ground

February 13: 2nd T20I - Australia v Sri Lanka, Sydney Cricket Ground

February 15: 3rd T20I - Australia v Sri Lanka, Manuka Oval

February 18: 4th T20I - Australia v Sri Lanka, Melbourne Cricket Ground

February 20: 5th T20I - Australia v Sri Lanka, Melbourne Cricket Ground
