Mohammad Rizwan named ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of 2021, England's Tammy Beaumont picked for women's category

Mohammad Rizwan had scored unbeaten 79 runs against India in the T20 World Cup 2021.

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan was named the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year on Sunday (January 23). He had outstanding numbers in T20Is last year, and T20 format in general.

Rizwan batted in 26 innings and remained not-out 8 times while scoring 1326 runs with an average of 73.67 and a terrific strike rate of 134.89. His highest score of 104* runs came off facing 64-balls, including 7 sixes and 5 fours against South Africa.

The 29-year-old was the star performer for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021. He scored 281 runs in the 6 innings with an average of 70.25 and strike-rate of 127.73.

Rizwan's highest score of unbeaten 79 runs in the tournament came against India in their opening match of the tournament, and Namibia during the Super 12 clash. He also scored 67 runs in the semi-final against Australia, but Pakistan went on to lose the match. 

Oman's Zeeshan Maqsood has been named as Men's Associate Player of 2021, and Austria's Andrea-Mae Zepeda has been named as Women's Associate Player of 2021.

The ICC Women's T20I Cricketer of year is England wicketkeeper-batter Tammy Beaumont. She was England's highest run-getter in T20Is during 2021, and third-highest overall in the world.

Beaumont is currently on the verge of completing 100 T20I matches. She has played 99 matches overall to score 1721 runs, with 116 being her highest score.
