Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is unlikely to take part in the upcoming second edition of the Road Safety World Series. He had led the India Legends to a title victory in the inaugural edition of the Road Safety World Series in 2021, featuring retired international cricketers.

The reason behind the iconic cricketer’s decision is that several cricketers, including him, have complained of unpaid dues from the first edition of the tournament.

Like others, Tendulkar hasn’t also got his full payment for the inaugural edition of the Road Safety World Series and he has now decided to dissociate himself from the event.

It is being reported that Bangladesh cricketers Khaled Mahmud "Sujon", Khaled Mashud "Pilot", Mehrab Hossain, Rajin Saleh, Hannan Sarkar, and Nafees Iqbal haven’t been paid any money so far.

A source close to developments told PTI: “Sachin will not be a part of RSWS this season. The tournament is marked from March 1-19 in the UAE but Sachin will not be a part of this tournament in any form.”

He added, “Yes, Sachin is among many cricketers who took part in the tournament, who haven’t been paid by the organizers. And one needs to get in touch with a Ravi Gaikwad, who was the premier organizer.”

It is being said that Gaikwad was contacted repeatedly for the alleged delay in payments, but he did not respond to either calls or text messages.

Notably, several players had signed under the aegis of a company called Majestic Legends Pvt Ltd and PMG, and the teams and players were managed by a company named Second Innings Sports and Entertainment.

They committed 10 percent to every player upon signing. Another 40 percent was supposed to be paid by February 25, 2021, and the remaining 50 percent by March 31, 2021.
