Team India is expected to clash with Pakistan twice this year.
This means the Indian team of both white and red ball formats will be on the road for most of the time. Let's have a look at who and where will Team India play cricket in the New Year 2022.
India’s tour of South Africa
While India started their South Africa tour on a winning note by defeating the hosts in the first Test of the three-match series in Centurion; there are two more Tests remaining with the second one to begin on 3rd Jan in Johannesburg and the third one in Cape Town from Jan 11.
India will also play three ODIs in Paarl and Cape Town.
Home series against West Indies and Sri Lanka
After the South Africa sojourn, India will welcome West Indies for three ODIs on February 6, 9, and 12 while 3 T20Is will take place on February 15, 18, and 20.
Then Sri Lanka will come to visit for 2 Tests and 3 T20Is, with the red-ball, matches kicking off on February 25 and March 5. The three T20Is will be played on March 13, 15, and 18.
IPL 2022
After more than a decade, the IPL will see 10 teams participating for the coveted trophy in the months of April and May. It is expected that the tournament will have a total of 74 matches and is expected to finish in the last week of May.

Home series against South Africa
In a rare move, India will host matches in June in India, welcoming South Africa for five T20Is to be played on June 9, 12, 14, 17, and 19 in Chennai, Bengaluru, Nagpur, Rajkot, and Delhi, respectively.
India’s tour of England
India will then tour England to finish off the five-Test series with the fifth Test to be played from July 1 to 5. India leads the Test series 2-1. After the red-ball match, the two teams will clash in three T20Is which will be played on July 7, 9, and 10, and three ODIs that will take place on July 12, 14, and 17.
India’s tour of West Indies and the Asia Cup
The Men in Blue will then tour West Indies for 3 ODIs and as many T20Is in July-August.
After the Caribbean tour, India will visit Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup tournament to defend their title and will face off against arch-rivals Pakistan.
T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia
The T20 World Cup 2022 will be played in Australia from October 16 to November 13. It is expected that the two arch-rivals India and Pakistan will clash in the tournament, given that their tie in the T20 World Cup 2021 became the most-watched T20I match in history, setting a new record for the most views with 15.9 billion minutes in India alone.
India’s tour of Bangladesh
After the marquee T20 event, Team India will tour Bangladesh for 2 Tests and 3 ODIs. The dates for the series will be announced in the coming months.
