Shaheen Afridi had picked up three important wickets in the T20 World Cup match against India.
Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi had laid the foundation of their win over India in the T20 World Cup 2021 Super 12 match. He took down the Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul on a low score and later picked up the wicket of Virat Kohli.
But Shaheen was feeling the pressure of the high-voltage match and he had a chat with former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi before the game. Shahid told Samaa TV that he got a video call from the pacer and they interacted for around 10 minutes.

“Before the first game against India, Shaheen video-called me and told me that I'm feeling a bit of pressure. We talked for about 11-12 minutes, I told him that god gave you the opportunity to go out and perform, you strike those wickets and become a hero. By god's grace, he did exactly that,” said Shahid.
It was Pakistan's first-ever win against India in the World Cup tournament. They won the match by 10 wickets and later went on to lose the semi-final contest against Australia.
The ex-Pakistan cricketer spoke about his experience of playing against the arch-rivals India and said that the players used to have a sleepless night before the match.
“It's intense. If you talk about me, we couldn't even sleep the whole night. We used to wait for it. Some players would go into their own shell but I used to wait for that game eagerly.. 'When will we play against India?' I used to think. Even if someone doesn't like cricket, they would sit in front of the television when India plays Pakistan in cricket,” said Afridi.
