September 30, 2017, is the cutoff date for the direct qualification for the ICC World Cup 2019.
With a convincing win over New Zealand, their first over
Kiwis in New Zealand, Bangladesh have taken a huge leap in the ICC ODI team
Rankings as well.
Bangladesh beat Ireland and New Zealand in the tri-series
and as an incentive, they now move to 6th place in the ICC ODI team
rankings, which is their best ever position. They left their Asian neighbors
Sri Lanka and Pakistan below them. With the cut-off date for World Cup 2019 in
sight, these accumulation of points can prove useful for Bangladesh.
Sri Lanka has 92.8 points as compared to Bangladesh’s 93.3
points. September 30, 2017, is the cutoff date for the direct qualification for
the ICC World Cup 2019 and this will serve as a wake-up call for both Pakistan and
West Indies, who are ranked 8 and 9 respectively and may very well miss the
boat on direct qualification for the World Cup.
