Rishabh Pant named Uttarakhand's brand ambassador; vows to promote sports and health

Pant also thanked the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the opportunity.

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been named as the brand ambassador of the Uttarakhand state on Sunday (December 19). Pant is currently preparing for the upcoming three-match Test series in South Africa, starting on December 26 in Centurion.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made the announcement of appointing Pat as the state’s brand ambassador on Twitter on Sunday and said that the young cricketer will encourage the youngsters to take up sports in the region.

He also shared a short clip of a conversation with Pant on Twitter. Mr. Dhami wrote on Twitter in Hindi:  “One of the best cricket players of India, the idol of youth and son of Uttarakhand, Rishabh Pant has been appointed as ‘State Brand Ambassador’ by our government with the aim of encouraging the youth of the state towards sports and public health.”

After being appointed as Uttarakhand’s brand ambassador, Pant thanked the Chief Minister for the opportunity and vowed to give his best in promoting sports and motivating people towards general health among the people of the state.

Pant wrote on Twitter: “Thank you @pushkardhami sir for giving me the opportunity to be the Brand Ambassador of promoting Sports and General Health among the people of Uttarakhand. I'll do my best to spread this message and feeling happy that you are taking these steps towards a fitter India.”

He added, “Coming from a small town of Roorkee, I am confident that the people here have the ability to make the country proud in various fields of life.”
