Veteran England pacer James Anderson said that he wants to play in all four remaining Test matches of the ongoing Ashes 2021-22 in Australia ahead of the second Test in Adelaide.
Anderson was rested for the first Ashes Test in Brisbane, where England was defeated by 9 wickets, falling behind 0-1 in the ongoing five-Test series.
Well, Anderson was named in England’s 12-member squad for the second Test, which will be a day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval, starting on Thursday, December 16, and the legendary pacer said he will do his best against Australia if he gets picked for the pink-ball Test.
However, Anderson, who has 632 Test wickets to his name, has insisted that England's selection isn’t in his control but made it clear that he would like to play in the remaining four games of the Ashes series.

Anderson said at the press conference on Wednesday: “I came here wanting to be available for five (Tests) and that doesn’t change now, I want to be available for the next four.”
The 39-year-old further added, “I think the gaps between the next few Tests, it might be a bit easier to get that rest in between and make sure everyone's fresh, but that's something out of my control. I've just got to do my best if I get picked tomorrow.”
On missing the first Ashes Test in Brisbane, Anderson said: “All I can do is try and prepare as well as I can and stay fit and the last few years I've certainly been managed a bit more, missing the odd game to try and make sure I stay fresh for a long series.”
He signed off by saying, “So that's something I've got used to I guess over the last few years. All I try to focus on is making sure my bowling is as good as it can be, my fitness is as good as it can be and if the captain wants me to play then I'll be there for him.”
