Akhtar recently walked out of a TV show after being asked to leave by the host.
Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar was involved in a fresh controversy as he walked out of a TV program earlier this week. He had resigned from his job as a cricket analyst after being told to leave the set by the host of the show, Dr. Nauman Niaz at state-owned PTV.
Akhtar said he had been treated badly and insulted on air by the host in the post-match show following Pakistan’s five-wicket win over New Zealand in the ongoing T20 World Cup. When he took off his microphone and left, the host didn’t attempt to call him back and showed no reaction at all.
On Thursday (October 28), PTV tweeted that it has "decided to take both Nauman Niaz and Shoaib Akhtar off-air until the inquiry of the spat between the two completes".
Akhtar was surprised by the announcement as he had already resigned from the show. "Well that's hilarious. I resigned in front of 220 million Pakistanis & billions across the world. Is PTV crazy or what? Who are they to off air me?", Akhtar replied on PTV's tweet.
The ex-Pakistan cricketer was insulted in front of other guests on the show including greats like Sir Vivian Richards, David Gower, Rashid Latif, Umar Gul, Rashid Latif, Aaqib Javed, and former Pakistan women’s team captain Sana Mir.
