India's leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal thanked his supporters and well-wishers for the positive messages after being dropped from India's T20I side. He has not been included in India's upcoming T20 World Cup squad.

In a chat with Aakash Chopra, Chahal said that the close people pick you up in such difficult times. The leg-spinner couldn't find a place even in the reserve players as India picked a spin-heavy side.

"I see people's messages, feels good to be loved. It's your closest ones that pick you up when you are down," said Chahal.

The leggie wasn't in a good form this year and his dip in form for India, followed by an average outing in the first phase of IPL 2021, didn't help him. In the seven matches of IPL 2021, he could only pick four wickets.

"Bad form was playing on my mind a bit, especially after the IPL. I sat down with my wife Dhanashree who helped me. She told me that every day you won't take wickets, it's just a bad phase,’’ he added.

Chahal admitted that the lack of wickets was hurting him and he had nothing to show in the wickets column. "I knew that I was bowling well but sometimes in T20 cricket, it's very hard to take wickets if a batsman doesn't attack. It affects you when you don't have wickets to show in the column,’’ he revealed.

''But I was backing myself and was waiting for the Sri Lanka series."

The 29-year-old would look to find his touch back in the second phase of IPL 2021 at UAE. He could play only one T20I match in Sri Lanka before coming in contact with Krunal Pandya who was tested positive for COVD-19. Chahal missed out last two matches after being in isolation.
