The white-ball tour was originally scheduled to begin on August 6.
Zimbabwe's white-ball tour of Ireland has been postponed yet again due to the COVID-19 enforced traveling restrictions in Northern Ireland with the Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) still awaiting clearance from the government to travel the country for the series.
The limited-overs series between Ireland and Zimbabwe, comprising three ODIs and five T20Is, was originally scheduled to begin on August 6 in Belfast, but the tour was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols as the tourists are on the UK’s red list.
Recently, ZC Managing Director Givemore Makoni has revealed that they are planning to send Zimbabwe players on August 19 for the white-ball series in Ireland, subject to government clearance.
He also said the ZC will announce further details once they get clearance from the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) to travel to Ireland.

As reported by ESPNCricinfo, Makoni told Newsday: “We have applied to the Sports and Recreation Commission for permission to travel but we have set August 19 as the departure date. Everything will be announced once we get clearance from the SRC.”
Last month, Cricket Ireland chief executive Warren Deutrom had confirmed that Zimbabwe's tour of Ireland has been delayed and the white-ball series is likely to take place in August-September, as ZC awaits clearance from the government to travel to Ireland.
Deutrom had stated, “We recognize that with Zimbabwe being on the UK Red List, but a Category 2 country in the Republic of Ireland classification, approval for the series was always conditional upon the evolving advice of the government.”
He concluded, “It is now anticipated that the series will be held in August-September 2021, but that some venue changes may be required to accommodate the latest advice received.”
