New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham who is currently playing in the inaugural edition of ‘The Hundred’, had a terrific outing against on Tuesday (27 July) as his team Welsh Fire defeated the Southern Brave by 18 runs to take the second spot on the points table and are currently behind Trent Rockers.

Opting to bowl first, Southern Brave were taken apart by Welsh Fire skipper Jonny Bairstow (72 off 39 deliveries) along with Ben Duckett (53 off 34 deliveries) as they ended up scoring 165/4 in their quota of 100 balls.

But when the James Vince-led Southern Brave who are yet to win a game in this 100-ball tournament came out to chase the target, the Kiwi all-rounder made sure the opponents didn’t get going at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Tuesday.

"Innovation is not encouraged and is often misunderstood," R Ashwin finds The Hundred enjoyable

Neesham picked 3 wickets and gave away just 5 runs in the 15 balls he bowled at an amazing economy of 0.33 with 10 dot balls.

The 30-year-old from Auckland who is known for his sarcastic and funny tweets responded to his success in the same fashion as he replied to the praise from the official twitter hand of this 100-ball tournament with a sarcastic saying.

There’s an old saying, every dog has his day,” Neesham wrote on Twitter along with a laughing emoji while responding to The Hundred’s official twitter handle.
