Flamboyant Indian wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson is currently gearing up for the challenge of the six white-ball matches against Sri Lanka. He will be reuniting with Rahul Dravid, with whom he spent quite some time in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals

Samson was picked by RR in 2012 when Rahul Dravid was the captain of the team.

He said that every individual representing India U19 and India A teams were ‘fortunate' to be guided by Rahul Dravid.

"Each and every individual in the India A side or the juniors going into the Indian team have been fortunate to go through a person called Rahul Dravid. We are very lucky to learn our cricket from him," Sanju Samson said on Star Sports show 'Follow the Blues'

He also recalled the ‘biggest moment’ of his life when Rahul Dravid asked him if he would play for his IPL team.

"I remember going to the Rajasthan Royals trials one day – I batted really well – and he came up to me and asked me a question 'can you play for my team?'. So, that was the biggest moment of my life, and I can never forget that. That shows how great a human being he is, and I really enjoy his company." he said.

Samson earned his maiden call-up for team India in 2014 for the England tour. However, it was only a year later that he made his debut against Zimbabwe. He failed to capitalize on the opportunity and was only recalled to the team five years later.

Unfortunately, he could only manage scores of 6, 8, 2, 23, 15, and 10 against Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia in early 2020. Inconsistency has been a bane in Sanju Samson's career and he will look to correct it in the Sri Lanka series.
