Roger Binny also agrees with Madan Lal's claim of Kapil Dev-led Team India being stronger than MS Dhoni's side.
Ex-India cricketers Madan Lal and Roger Binny believe India's 1983 World Cup-winning side would have defeated the MS Dhoni-led Team India in the 2011 World Cup victory. Lal and Binny were also part of India's maiden World Cup-winning squad.
On Friday (June 25), India completed 38 years of their World Cup win in 1983 under Kapil Dev. They had beaten West Indies in the final by 43 runs after scoring 183 runs in the 60-over match. In reply, West Indies got bowled out for 140 runs.

"We would have won definitely. We had all the fighters in our team, they wouldn't have let the World Cup go. Everybody will get a chance to do well, they would have definitely won the game," Lal said on India Today.
Binny also feels the team in 1983 would have won, especially if the match was played at the Lord's Cricket Ground. "If we were playing at Lord's we would have definitely won," he said.
India's World Cup win in 2011 came after 28 years and the Dhoni-led team had defeated Sri Lanka in the final. They lost only one match in the tournament, and crushed teams like Australia and Pakistan en-route final.
