One of Team India’s main men in the longest format, Cheteshwar Pujara is often criticized not only by the fans but also by a lot of pundits for ‘batting too slowly.'

The most recent occasions include his innings during the Australian Test series Down Under, in which he scored 271 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 29.20.

The former Australian spinner Brad Hogg who recently conducted a Question-and-Answer session on Twitter received this question regarding Pujara’s batting. But, the left-arm spinner came up with an interesting answer.

@Brad_Hogg Is Pujara too slow in Tests? #AskHoggy,” a fan asked.

Not with the batters around him. You need someone like that to bat time. I actually enjoy watching him bat, appreciating his patience and determination.  #TestCricket,” Hogg replied.

"He is on top of his game at the moment," Kiran More sees Pant as a key player for WTC final

Even though Pujara might have scored a bit slowly in the recent Australia tour, but his overall stats reflect otherwise as the right-hand batsman in his 85 Test matches for India has scored over 6,200 runs at an average of 46.6 with a strike rate of 44.91.

After Pujara, there was another question posted by a fan asking the Aussie about his prediction for the upcoming World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand slated to begin from 18 June.

Tough but I feel New Zealand playing two tests before the final will give them an advantage. #WTCFinal,” the 50-year-old wrote.
