Team India had a great tour of Australia in 2020-21 as the Men in Blue registered a 2-1 win over the Aussies and won the second consecutive Test series down under.

This win was extremely special for fans because the Indian team won without some senior pros like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, R Ashwin, KL Rahul, and many more.

Thus, it was up to the youngsters and the way they performed was just brilliant to watch. The right-arm quick Mohammad Siraj was one of them as despite having tough times in his personal life, bowled his heart out and eventually the tide turned for him.

Virat Bhai is always there. When I couldn’t perform well in the IPL two years back, he showed faith in my ability. He retained me in RCB and I am grateful for this,” Siraj said.

The fast bowler who made his debut in the second Test match at Melbourne even though lost his father, decided to stay back and play for the country.

Mohammed Siraj wants to be a permanent member of Team India for a long time

While talking to ABP news, he revealed how the Indian head coach Ravi Shastri helped him during these tough times.

When I lost my father during the Australia tour, both Ravi sir and bowling coach Bharat Arun sir were so supportive. Ravi sir came to me and told, tu test match khel, dekh tereko 5 wickets milega. Tere Daddy ka dua tera saath hoga (You play the test match. You will get 5 wickets as your father’s blessings will be with you),” the 25-year-old said.

Match ke baad Ravi sir ne bahut khus hokar bola, tujhe bola tha na 5 wickets milega (I told that you will be getting five wickets). I became very confident after my coaches encouraged me in such a way,” he signed off.
