She also pokes fun at her father for not wearing the mask properly.
India’s One Day International (ODI) and Test captain Mithali Raj on Wednesday (May 26) revealed how her father Dorai Raj is taking forward the initiative that she started last year to help the needy in the testing times due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in India.
Last year, Raj started helping the needy in the tough COVID-19 times under her Mithali Raj Initiative, but now she is on national duty and in her absence, the veteran cricketer’s father is fulfilling these duties by distributing the foods to the needy people.
Notable, Mithali is currently in Mumbai alongside the Indian women’s cricket team, gearing up for the upcoming multi-format tour of England next month, hence, she could not continue her initiative and hand over the responsibility to his father.
On Wednesday, Raj took to Twitter to share a series of pictures wherein her father can be seen distributing food grains to auto drivers. She also took a dig at his father for not wearing a mask properly.
She wrote on Twitter, “Distribution of food grains and a small amount for sustenance being given to auto drivers by the Mithali raj initiative, something I started last year to do my bit in these COVID times. Dad doing the honours in my absence. Only problem is his mask.”
