Unmukt clarified that he recently went to the United States for a ‘leisure trip’.
In an interview this week, Pakistan cricketer Sami Aslam said Unmukt is one of the Indian cricketers who have recently moved to the USA to play in the Major League Cricket.
Subsequently, it was reported by some Indian media outlets that the 2019 U-19 World Cup-winning captain was looking at a career in the USA.

However, Chand refuted Aslam’s comment, saying he had just gone to the United States for a ‘leisure trip’.
"I had gone to the USA to visit my relatives, and of course when there, I went for a bat or two — just to practise. I had gone to the training session just because I had come here, but I have done nothing like signing anything in the USA,” he told indian.express.com in an exclusive chat.
“This trip is nothing but a leisure tour,” added the 28-year-old.
BCCI’s rule suggests that any India cricketer who has not announced formal retirement from all forms of the game — domestic and international — isn’t eligible to take part in any overseas T20 league that competes with the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In 2019, Yuvraj Singh called time on his international cricket career and then competed in the Global Canada T20 League and Abu Dhabi T10 League for Toronto Nationals and Maratha Arabians, respectively.
Sami Aslam, who left Pakistan cricket and moved to USA, recently revealed that he has been contacted by 100 first-class cricketers in Pakistan exploring the possibility of them settling in America.
The 25-year-old further said that many foreign cricketers are now being recruited by the American cricket administration.
“30 or 40 foreign players have arrived in America recently. A few former Under-19 Indian players have also arrived, including Unmukt Chand, Smit Patel and Harmeet Singh,” he told pakpassion.net.
