Veda Krishnamurthy’s sister Vatsala succumbs to COVID-19, two weeks after her mother’s death

Indian women's cricketer Veda Krishnamurthy's sister Vatsala Shivakumar passed away due to COVID-19 complications. This shock comes just two weeks after her mother had succumbed to the deadly virus.

In April 2021, Krishnamurthy had tweeted to thank everyone for their messages after her mother Cheluvamba Devi,63, lost the battle against COVID-19 and passed away on April 22.

Veda revealed she had tested negative for COVID-19 but urged others to keep her sister in their prayers as she battles the virus after testing positive.

Unfortunately for Veda, all the prayers and wishes from her fans and well-wishers went in vain, as her sister Vatsala Shivakumar lost the battle to COVID-19 on Wednesday night while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chikkamagaluru.

Her sister, Vatsala Shivakumar was suffering from Covid after the entire family did a round of testing back in April. Vatsala was in the intensive care unit in the private hospital.

According to her family sources, she was shifted to the general ward on Wednesday as her condition improved, but she died a few hours later. She is survived by a son, father, two sisters, and a brother. Her husband died a few years ago.
