India's Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane on Friday (May 2) extended his support to the country’s fight against the second COVID-19 wave, donating 30 Oxygen concentrators to Mission Vayu for patients in Maharashtra.

Taking to Twitter, Mahratta Chamber of Commerce thanked Rahane for his noble gesture and announced that they would send these concentrators to the most affected parts of Maharashtra.

"Thank you so much Ajinkya Rahane @ajinkyarahane88 for your additional contribution of 30 Oxygen Concentrators to #MissionVayu. We will send these to the most affected districts of Maharashtra," MCCIA tweeted.

India is reporting over 3 lakh COVID-19 cases for over 10 days now and the health infrastructure is struggling to cope with the crisis, failing to provide oxygen and crucial medicines to the infected patients.

Earlier, the likes of Brett Lee, Pat Cummins, Sachin Tendulkar, Shikhar Dhawan, Jaydev Unadkat, Sreevats Goswami and IPL franchises Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals have made a contribution as India is battling an unprecedented health crisis.
