Prithi revealed that 6 adults and 4 children tested positive for COVID-19 virus.
He played 5 matches for his team Delhi Capitals (DC) and picked just one wicket, before sharing with his fans that he was taking time off from the game to be with his family.
“I would be taking a break from this years IPL from tomorrow. My family and extended family are putting up a fight against #COVID19 and I want to support them during these tough times. I expect to return to play if things go in the right direction. Thank you @DelhiCapitals,” Ashwin had tweeted.
Now his wife Prithi has updated that 6 adults and 4 children in the family have tested positive for COVID-19 with the kids being the vehicles of transmission.
“Feeling ok enough to croak a tiny hi to all of you.6 adults and 4 children ended up testing+ the same week, with our kids being the vehicles of transmission - the core of my family, all down with the virus in different homes/hospitals..Nightmare of a week.1 of 3 parents back home,” Prithi Narayanan tweeted.
She further encouraged others to take the vaccine. She also revealed that the disease took a toll on her mental health saying that physical health recovers faster than mental health and urged people to go out and seek help.
Apart from Ashwin, four overseas players and one umpire has pulled out of the ongoing IPL 2021 tournament which is being played in strict bio-bubble protocols.
