He captained India in 22 Test matches.
Former Indian captain Bishan Singh Bedi has been discharged from the hospital on Thursday (March 11) after spending nearly 3 weeks in Sir Gangaram Hospital following a bypass surgery last month.
74-year-old Bedi, who is known for being outspoken and forthright views on cricketing matters, had undergone a bypass surgery in Delhi’s Sir Gangaram Hospital after he complained of heart problems last month. He also subsequently underwent an operation to remove blood clotting in his brain.
Bedi’s close friend and a former Delhi captain have revealed that the former spinner has now recovered significantly and discharged from the hospital on Thursday evening.
The source told PTI on Thursday, “He has been discharged yesterday after the doctors found him fit enough to go home. He has been advised complete rest.”
Noteworthy, the former spinner played a total of 67 Tests and took 266 wickets as well as 7 wickets in 10 ODIs between 1966 and 1979. He also captained the Indian Cricket Team in 22 Test matches.
