Madan Lal receives his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Delhi

Earlier, India coach Ravi Shastri had taken the COVID vaccine in Ahmedabad.

Former Indian cricketer and former coach Madan Lal received his first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday (March 2) morning after India head coach Ravi Shastri.

The 69-year-old, who was an integral part of India’s World Cup-winning team in 1983, got himself vaccinated at the Jeewan Hospital in New Delhi.

He got the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as part of the second phase in India, as now the vaccination drive has expanded in the country with everyone over 60 and above with co-morbidities taking the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines across the country.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Lal shared an image of him receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and lauded the Jeewan Hospital and nursing home for the smooth procedure.

He wrote on Twitter: “In the fight against Covid -19 .. im vaccine strong!!! "Proud to get the Jab ". Organized and well handled at Jeewan hospital and nursing home !!!”

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has also shared a video of Madan Lal where the former cricket can be seen saying every citizen should get the Covid-19 vaccine to end the deadly disease.

Earlier on the day, India head coach Shastri took to Twitter and shared a picture of him taking his first dose of Covid-19 vaccine at the Apollo Hospital in Ahmedabad.

He tweeted, “Got the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Thank you to the amazing medical professionals & scientists for empowering the India Flag of India against the pandemic.

Extremely impressed with the professionalism shown by Kantaben & her team at Apollo, Ahmedabad in dealing with COVID-19 vaccination.”
