Vinay Kumar R announces retirement from all cricket

Vinay Kumar played 1 Test, 31 ODIs and 9 T20Is for India from 2010-13.

Vinay Kumar R, India and Karnataka fast bowler has called time on his cricketing career, bringing down curtains on a 25-year-old journey in the sport.

Vinay Kumar, who hails from Davanagere, Karnataka had made his FC debut in 2004 against Bengal. He went onto play 139 FC matches, 141 List-A games, and 181 T20 matches in his career. He picked 504, 225, and 194 wickets respectively.

He also turned out for India in 1 Test, 31 ODIs, and 9 T20I matches from 2010-2013, having made his international debut against Sri Lanka in a T20I. He played his one and only Test against Australia at Perth in 2012.

The Karnataka pacer also plied his trade in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well. He played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, and Kolkata Knight Riders over the course of 105 matches, in which he took 105 wickets at an economy of 8.39 and best bowling of 4/40.

He also won the IPL titles with Kolkata and Mumbai franchises.

He announced his retirement in a statement he shared on his official Twitter account with caption saying, “Thankyou all for your love and support throughout my career. Today I hang up my boots.”
