PAK v SA 2021: Pakistan announce T20I squad for South Africa series; Hafeez, Imad, Fakhar missing

The 3 T20I matches will be played on February 11, 13 and 14 in Lahore.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 20-man squad for the T20I series against South Africa. The two teams will play 3 T20I matches at the Gaddafi Stadium, starting February 11.

The squad sees several top names like Mohammad Hafeez, Shadab Khan, and Imad Wasim missing from the squad that was announced on Sunday (January 31). Pakistan had last played T20Is against New Zealand and lost the series 2-1. Also missing from the squad were opener Fakhar Zaman and pacer Wahab Riaz.

The Mohammad Akram-led selection panel has named four uncapped players: left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar, bowling all-rounder Amad Butt, all-rounder Danish Aziz and legspinner Zahid Mehmood.

The squad along with the officials will enter the bio-secure bubble from Wednesday (February 3). The players who are a part of the second Test in Rawalpindi will join the bubble after the Test is completed.
